Today, we’re discussing how MegaETH is innovating on contemporary Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain implementations to provide industry-leading performance capabilities and decentralization guarantees.
⭐️ What Makes MegaETH Special
High-performance alt L1s require their nodes to perform identical tasks without specialization, imposing a fundamental tradeoff between performance and decentralization. In comparison, MegaETH takes advantage of Ethereum’s L2s technology to create differentiated roles for nodes with varying hardware requirements.
MegaETH decouples the task of transaction processing from full nodes and creates three major roles for infrastructure operators: sequencers, provers, and full nodes. Although actual block production becomes increasingly centralized with MegaETH, flexible hardware requirements from node specialization ensures trustless block validation and could provide industry-leading decentralization guarantees.

To me, this is one of the most exciting areas of development in crypto today, and that’s why my curiosity was piqued when I recently came across MagicBlock Engine.
MagicBlock is a game engine that’s innovated an Ephemeral Rollups architecture for powering flexible and performant onchain games on Solana.
I think MagicBlock is an interesting look into what's to come in the Solana gaming scene, so let’s catch you up on all the basics.
What Is MagicBlock?
MagicBlock is a gaming framework built on top of Solana, designed to facilitate the development of fully onchain games and apps.
Recently, MagicBlock Engine showcased its capabilities at an a16zcrypto Demo Day event.
The demo featured a real-time, fully onchain game deployed entirely on Solana, and two clients played the game simultaneously with no lag thanks to the MagicBlock’s ability to delegate accounts into fast Solana validators.
What Are Ephemeral Rollups?
MagicBlock extends Solana's capabilities by introducing Ephemeral Rollups (ERs), which are designed to efficiently facilitate state transitions without fragmenting a game’s state.
MagicBlock’s Other Main Features
⚡️ BOLT — A framework that uses the Entity Component System (ECS) pattern to streamline the development of onchain games. It allows developers to quickly create modular, reusable, and extendable game components and logic.
🪪 SOAR — SOAR stands for Solana Onchain Achievement & Ranking. This reputation system lets developers readily define achievements based on onchain activities, track and display user rankings, and deploy rewards.
🔑 Session keys — MagicBlock recently helped add support for session keys in the Solana Unity SDK, making it easier for its game devs to eliminate the need for repeated wallet popups during frequent in-game interactions in a secure fashion.
MagicBlock’s angle is to bypass these fragmentation issues by keeping assets on mainnet Solana, thus maintaining the possibility for atomic composability, while still achieving scalability with ERs. What to Watch Going Forward?

A beginner's guide to the Onchain Game Engine 👇
Onchain game engines make it easier to build games with no external dependencies beyond their underlying blockchain.
To me, this is one of the most exciting areas of development in crypto today, and that’s why my curiosity was piqued when I recently came across MagicBlock Engine.
MagicBlock is a game engine that’s innovated an Ephemeral Rollups architecture for powering flexible and performant onchain games on Solana.
I think MagicBlock is an interesting look into what's to come in the Solana gaming scene, so let’s catch you up on all the basics.
What Is MagicBlock?
MagicBlock is a gaming framework built on top of Solana, designed to facilitate the development of fully onchain games and apps.
Recently, MagicBlock Engine showcased its capabilities at an a16zcrypto Demo Day event.
The demo featured a real-time, fully onchain game deployed entirely on Solana, and two clients played the game simultaneously with no lag thanks to the MagicBlock’s ability to delegate accounts into fast Solana validators.
What Are Ephemeral Rollups?
MagicBlock extends Solana's capabilities by introducing Ephemeral Rollups (ERs), which are designed to efficiently facilitate state transitions without fragmenting a game’s state.
MagicBlock’s Other Main Features
⚡️ BOLT — A framework that uses the Entity Component System (ECS) pattern to streamline the development of onchain games. It allows developers to quickly create modular, reusable, and extendable game components and logic.
🪪 SOAR — SOAR stands for Solana Onchain Achievement & Ranking. This reputation system lets developers readily define achievements based on onchain activities, track and display user rankings, and deploy rewards.
🔑 Session keys — MagicBlock recently helped add support for session keys in the Solana Unity SDK, making it easier for its game devs to eliminate the need for repeated wallet popups during frequent in-game interactions in a secure fashion.
MagicBlock’s angle is to bypass these fragmentation issues by keeping assets on mainnet Solana, thus maintaining the possibility for atomic composability, while still achieving scalability with ERs. This way you get high throughput, customizable runtimes, and the ability for games and apps to seamlessly interact without needing interoperability solutions.
What to Watch Going Forward?
1. MagicBlock is new and still rearing up. Which onchain game will be the first to officially use this engine?
2. The recent MagicBlock demo achieved 50ms latency, which is competitive with modern gaming standards. Can we expect further optimizations that bring this latency even lower for even better real-time gameplay?
3. Earlier this year, Parallel announced its AI game Colony would be based on Solana. Could the Parallel team adopt MagicBlock Engine to meet its infrastructure needs here?
4. With MagicBlock maintaining assets on the Solana mainnet, developers have the potential for atomic composability. What use cases will emerge from this capability?
5. Onchain games benefit greatly from user-generated content (UGC) and user-generated logic (UGL). Will the SOAR system be used to incentivize these sorts of creations?
The Bottom Line
While MagicBlock is still in its early stages, its potential to catalyze Solana’s fully onchain gaming scene seems considerable, as its Ephemeral Rollups architecture can help it bypass key challenges faced by other gaming engines while still ensuring high performance. Inspired and initiated by VitalikButerin, Zuzalu blended structure and spontaneity to construct a successful experiment, but almost immediately after the ephemeral city dispersed, attendees wondered how they could keep the fire of Zuzalu alive and continue to offer places for the ethos of Ethereum to connect with disparate emerging technologies.

🏡 The Rise of Zu-Villages
The success of Zuzalu sparked interest in continuing the concept of crypto pop-up cities called Zu-villages.
Earlier this year, a gitcoin grants program offered 250 ETH in funding for creating Zu-villages and Zu-related technology. The round ran from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15, providing funding for 32 events like JoinEdgeCity, Esmerelda and ZuBerlinCity, which are currently running or have just finished, and 28 tools like ZupassProject and MuseMatrix_, a DeSci research institute.
Many of these tie into Zuzalu City, a community hub for Zu-villages and related software, including a calendar of pop-up cities like the few we've highlighted below:
Edge Esmeralda
The ongoing Edge Esmeralda is a month-long popup village focused on incubating novel technologies and new ways of living, aiming to build a foundation for a permanent new town, Esmeralda, around Healdsburg, CA. With $217K in funding from the Zuzalu grants round, Esmeralda put together a series of events centered around human organization, robotics, artificial intelligence, real-world crypto applications, and health and longevity.
The rise of Zu-villages illustrates the enduring impact of Zuzalu, with these pop-up cities continuing to foster collaboration, technological advancement, and a decentralized way of living across the globe.
These pop-up villages demonstrate a model where individuals can co-live, co-work, and co-create, blurring the lines between professional collaboration and communal living to create atmospheres aligned with personal sovereignty and collective problem-solving. The transient nature of these communities allows for flexibility and adaptability, where new ideas can be tested and refined in real time.

The prediction from Mr Kendrick, head of currency and digital assets research at Standard Chartered Bank, hinges on Joe Biden remaining in the US presidential race.

How to become a better trader
- Look for good entries (avoid top blasting if possible)
- If you feel FOMO, don't enter the trade
- Ask yourself how you're feeling. If you feel nervous/stressed/anxious right after entering a trade, exit
- Once you enter, open the chart & set price targets (3x, 5x, 10x, etc.)
- Set limit orders to sell at these price targets. It's much harder to take profits when you don't have a plan
- Try to sell during peak euphoria. If everyone is in, there's no one left to buy
- Never overexpose yourself to a single coin
- Example: if you have a 10 sol port, play with 0.5-1sol per trade
Always put risk management first. You're not gambling, you're trading
Take Calculated Risks
